Jimmy 'Pat' Hutchins

Jimmy “Pat” Hutchins, 79, of Wilson, are scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 11, 2018, at the First Baptist Church of Wilson, with Rev. Mark Fuller officiating and Brady Stubbs providing the Eulogy. Interment will follow later that afternoon at 2 p.m. at Drake Cemetery next to his wife Beverly. Family visitation will be held on Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson. Arrangements are under the care of Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson. Pat was born on June 28, 1938, at Sulphur to the late Mr. James Arthur Hutchins and Mrs. Effie L. (Pritchard) Hutchins. He departed this life on Thursday evening of April 5, 2018, at Mercy Hospital of Ardmore. Pat was an only child of James and Effie’s and graduated high school at the age of 16 from Dickson High School in 1955. His father introduced him to riding calves as a young boy and as Pat grew older he became an exceptional bull rider. He attended school at Murray State College at Tishomingo and later attended OSU. His love for rodeo eventually took him away from college and Pat rodeoed full time. During his college years at OSU he rodeoed with a barrel racer named Beverly Sikes, whom he fell in love with and soon married. Pat had to quit riding bulls due to injury and began working in sales in the oilfield. He worked for Pacific Pumps and R. Bruce Carter for many years traveling to many different states, selling and installing pumps. He retired in 2000 due to Beverly’s illness and she preceded him death that same year. Pat then moved back home with his parents residing on the family ranch on Buckhorn Creek south of Sulphur. When he was looking at some cattle for sale he met the former Darlene Blodgett. They became good friends and were soon united in marriage on February 2, 2002. Pat loved residing south of Wilson with Darlene and her cows. Pat gave his life to the Lord on April 15, 2007.
